The Northern Illinois Tactical Shooting Club (NITac) will be holding several classes in basic pistol shooting.  Taught by NRA certified and experienced instructors in a safe, friendly atmosphere. .  This NRA approved course will cover the following topics:

    Pistol knowledge and safe firearm handling
    Fundamentals of pistol shooting
    Firing the first shots
    Shooting positions
    Pistol sports
    Cleaning and storage

Students are required to bring the following:

 

 

A valid Firearms Owner ID (FOID) card (You must be 21 or older to attend this course).

 

A safe, functional firearm.  Either a revolver or a semiautomatic pistol.

 

The Owners manual for your firearm.

 

50 rounds of ammunition designed to function safely in your firearm.

 

Safety glasses or goggles.

 

    (NITac's safety policies do not accept typical prescription glasses alone for use as shooting glasses.  The student must wear one of the following: ANSI Z87.1 rated safety glasses, goggles over prescription glasses or dedicated-use shooting glasses)

 

Hearing protection: either ear plugs or muffs are acceptable.

 

Small notebook and pen (a steno pad is ideal).

 

Cleaning equipment and materials for your firearm.

 

Comfortable clothing and a baseball cap or other cap with a bill.
